I have a Lenovo, N100/3000, 0768DKU. I have upgraded thru Vista and now Win10. Each time the sound goes away and I have been able to find the drivers for the SoundMax HD installed in the unit. When I upgraded to Win10, initially I had no sound, I reinstalled the driver I had loaded and the sound worked.
